you think everything’s funny you can always find something to laugh about you think everything’s funny I’m just trying to figure out you say you’re a friend to me then how come when I’m feeling down you still think everything’s funny so funny you say life’s a joke well, then I guess I don’t get the punchline you say let’s get drunk but you know wine don’t make me feel fine I know I should not be taken life so seriously but, the last thing I need is for you to laugh at me you say let’s get high but, I say every up has its down you’re always asking why my smile wears a frown well, maybe it’s because I think too much maybe it’s because I’m mad but, I think it’s just because this world around me is getting pretty sad and you, you still think everything’s funny you can always fine something to laugh about you think everything’s funny I’m just trying to figure out you say you’re a friend to me then how come when I’m feeling down you still think everything’s funny everything’s funny to you everything’s funny to you everything’s funny to you well, it ain’t that funny to me

the war is over and we’ve both gone home dragging our flags on the ground I’ve been looking at our time together back when innocence was ignorant and trust was truthful back before the barriers were broken down and I’ve been on the bluer side of grey I think that’s where I’m gonna stay on the bluer side of grey it’s after the trial the verdict is in and we have gone our separate ways the jury played their part standing by watching while friends fall flat on their faces tripping over trouble of yesterday and I’ve been on the bluer side of grey I think that’s where I’m gonna stay on the bluer side of grey and so the moral of the story has been told and the lessons have been learned our flags are unfurled freely as we wonder around the world waiting for our wounds to heal and court is adjourned and I’ve been on the bluer side of grey I think that’s where I’m gonna stay on the bluer side of grey bluer side of grey bluer side of grey bluer side of grey bluer side of grey bluer side of grey bluer side of grey

young boy I stood trying to piece the puzzle together God I prayed is it gonna be this way forever so, I took a handful of sand threw it up into the air hoping someone would catch it but, there wasn’t anybody there freeway overpass I keep on driving picking up the pieces of my mind time is a moment and the moment keeps slipping away time traveled on I thought I knew how the game was played and the boy inside of me slowly began to fade so, stone stone wasn’t hard enough to hide myself inside but, my eyes were strong enough to stop the rising tide freeway overpass I keep on driving picking up the pieces of my mind time is a moment and the moment keeps slipping away my mind has become numb to much has happened for me to be afraid and the boy inside of me slowly began to fade so, grabbing onto the stars was too high so, the ground will have to do but, I can still find a place just as a child I once drew freeway overpass I keep on driving picking up the pieces of my mind time is a moment and the moment keeps slipping away slipping away slipping away

Moses woke wide eyed thinking how thinking what thinking where he would go venturing onto and unto and into a brand new day singing in a language only he spoke only he knew only he sang in its key but, it didn’t matter because the song didn’t make any sense at all pulling on his clothes which he didn’t want to didn’t care to didn’t think it should matter at all whether he was naked, purple haired, short or ten feet tall walking out the door looking at the people looking at the sidewalks looking at the way the world was built brick by brick stone by stone it was created by some sarcastic rich man looking at the alleyways people’s sad eyes glazed over people feeling the pain or people so drugged out that they didn’t know any better looking at the fools fools for money fools for love fools enough to care for plastic people who have forgotten what it is to live he began to get sick but, he was used to it it was normal he didn’t hardly feel it at all the funny part of it was, the bums didn’t either he sat down by the street closed his eyes closed his soul sank into a peaceful sleep he was one with the people and far away from his heart as the world rolled on rolled all over him rolled all over him rolled all over him rolled all over him

you stare at me with your blank clown face on you stare at me as if I’m lost when it’s you who can’t find your heart I’m just trying to tell you something about the world I’m living in but, you turn away before I can start is this a little too real for you is this a little too true for you does it scare a little fear inside does it remind you of all those feelings you’ve been trying to hide where have you gone is there anybody home did you leave the house unattended did you take your soul away on vacation look inside my eyes what do you see is there anything going on is this causing you a little frustration is this a little too real for you is this a little too true for you does it scare a little fear inside does it remind you of all those feelings you’ve been trying to hide is this a little too real for you is this a little too true for you does it scare a little fear inside does it remind you of all those feelings you’ve been trying to hide

when I look at the world through my eyes I comfort myself with promises hidden within the walls they understand what kind of place this is and the nights I spend by myself talking to trees and wandering causes me to be afraid of the sun rising up in the morning and the winters keep getting colder maybe it’ll warm when I get older father and son walking around playing with the stars and getting down it’s just me and the moon playing catch with reality all this running around within the walls of security security when I open my eyes another day over the horizon I stand within my realm of intensity of my situation I drive my windy roads go away seeking experience but, whether I’m in the mountains or the valleys makes no difference and the winters keep getting colder maybe it’ll warm when I get older father and son walking around playing with the stars and getting down it’s just me and the moon playing catch with reality all this running around within the walls of security security and when I’m driving back through the night I take the long way home at times it seems so clear black and white why I travel alone sometimes people steal part of your soul before you realize and deep within my mind there’s a stone where my heart lies and the winters keep getting colder maybe it’ll warm when I get older father and son walking around playing with the stars and getting down it’s just me and the moon playing catch with reality all this running around within the walls of security security

I was lost I thought I was found and those same winds that blew you over blew me down you couldn’t stand the weather and I couldn’t stand to see myself fall yet, here we are together on the ground again the fire still burns when will I learn when will I see this is burning me fire still burns when will I learn right now, I can feel the heat I’ve done many a crime and I’ve built me a jail but, I didn’t serve my time I didn’t mean to hurt you but, I was caught up within myself ‘cause these lies I told to bind you bound me the fire still burns when will I learn when will I see this is burning me fire still burns when will I learn right now, I can feel the heat and the fire still burns when will I learn when will I see this is burning me fire still burns when will I learn right now, I can feel the heat ‘cause the fire still burns fire still burns

Bookcovers 03:11
if you think you can read me like a book upon a shelf I say how can you know when I hardly know myself look me up find my definition what does it say by my name does it tell you what I see does it tell you what I hear does it tell you about my dreams does it tell you about my fears and I wonder if it tells you how I feel when I stumble and I fall maybe I have a story or two that I can tell you and if you don’t judge me maybe you’ll see through read between the lines and you’ll discover that you can’t judge a soul by it’s cover so, if you think you can read me like a book upon a shelf I say if you want to know me you better look within yourself look yourself up find the definition what does it say by your name
